Prime minister flees Bangladesh

1 - BANGLADESH
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina - who has held office as the head of the Awami League party for 15 years - recently fled the country after a major civilian uprising led to angry protestors filling the streets.
Angry protesters, initiated by a student protest, quickly became destructive, burning government and police buildings as well as Awami League offices. The protestors initially had several demands, but ended up settling for just one: the resignation of Sheikh Hasina.
More than 300 people total were killed in the uprising and the weeks leading up to it, both by angry protestors and government attempting to suppress them.
Key uprising coordinator Nahid Islam proposes an interim government led by Nobel Laureate Dr. Mohammad Yunus.
The army - led by General Bangabhaban, among others - remains in control, with one of their first acts being the release of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

2 - VENEZUELA
Venezuelan opposition and other nations around the world have refused to recognize Maduro’s victory in the July 28 election, leading to protests across the country. Voters in the streets say call for freedom and dread another term under Maduro.
Protests have erupted across Venezuela after nations across the world and the Venezuelan opposition refused to recognize current president Nicolas Maduro’s re-election in the July 28 election.
During his 11 years in power, Maduro has overseen the collapse of the country, protestors in the streets say they want freedom and peace for the country.
The US, EU, and other South American countries refused to recognize the election results
Military and security forces remain loyal to Maduro, and have arrested over 1000 anti-government protesters
11 people were killed in the protests

3 - ISRAEL
Despite the looming threat of an attack from Iran - recently angered as a Hamas terrorist leader was assassinated in Tehran - Israel has decided to begin lowering nationwide restrictions on gatherings as well as workplace and educational activities.
Israeli aid continues to pour into Gaza as the war against Hamas continues. With more than 1,400 trucks of food and supplies arriving in Gaza from Israel through the Kerem Shalom Crossing, the burden of distribution lies with the UN and other humanitarian organizations - a difficult operation as terrorist operatives frequently hijack aid trucks en route.
