Israeli Defense Forces conducted a daring rescue operation in southern Gaza, successfully freeing Qaid Farhan Alkadi, an Arab-Israeli hostage held by Hamas since October 7, 2023.

Alkadi was found in a terrorist tunnel in Rafah, more than 60 feet underground. He is reportedly in stable condition, and has been transferred to a hospital in Israel for further treatment. This rescue operation marks the fourth successful rescue operation of living hostages by Israel, though 108 remain in Hamas captivity.

During the mission, Israeli forces engaged in combat with Hamas terrorists. Casualty details remain unknown.

At least 6 people were killed after Russia continues to launch drone and missile strikes against Ukraine, following the attack on the 26th. A hotel was among the targets hit inside Ukraine, destroying it completely and killing three, despite Ukrainian defense shooting down a majority of the missiles and drones.

Russian forces inside Ukraine have advanced over 2 kilometers in the region around Pokrovsk, confirming reports that Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from the area.  Despite the relatively rapid speed of the recent advances, they are expected to slow once they reach the highly defensible town of Pokrovsk, since it's unlikely that Ukraine would abandon it.
