Israel has passed controversial new legislation allowing the government to deport family members of terrorists, including Israeli citizens, if they had prior knowledge of attacks or expressed support for them. The law gives the interior minister power to expel first-degree relatives for periods of 7-15 years for citizens and 10-20 years for legal residents.

Lebanese-American businessman Massad Boulos indicated he will serve as the US point man for Lebanon in the incoming Trump administration, tasked with negotiating a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
